Daffodil Day at the Wadsworth Mansion
Due to inclement weather, Daffodil Day has been canceled.
Join us for our annual Daffodil Day at the Wadsworth Mansion! We are excited to welcome the public back to the Mansion for an afternoon of fun and nature exploration. This event will be held primarily outdoors on our grounds however, masks are required for the safety of all attendees.
Everyone Outside (www.EveryoneOutside.org) staff will offer a variety of outdoor family fun activities. Their staff will be at the Vernal Pool on the east side of the mansion to show the amazing creatures found in vernal pools at this time of year including frogs, salamander eggs, tadpoles, insect larvae, and more! Viewing scopes will be available. Come visit the vernal pool any time between 12:00 and 3:00 PM.
Ready for a little scavenger hunt? We encourage families to explore our grounds to find every item on the list. Be sure to post your photos on Facebook or Instagram and tag the Mansion #WadsworthMansion so we can follow your progress. Click here for our downloadable scavenger hunt.
We have also created a Wildlife hunt! Keep an eye out as you walk through our woods! You never know what you’ll find. Can you locate the local woodland creatures we’ve placed in the forest? This fun, family-themed scavenger hunt is great for kids of all ages. Click here for our downloadable wildlife hunt!
Ongoing throughout the afternoon, the Mansion will be open for self guided tours providing a narrative that details the history of the estate. Furniture donated by the Wadsworth Family will be on display in the History Room. Our terrace will host a live musician to entertain guests as they enjoy their surroundings. Masks are required at all times indoors.
Guests are encouraged bring a kite to fly on the vista, enjoy independently the 103 acres of parklands and view the daffodils that will bloom sometime in April assuring us all that spring has finally arrived.
