A plethora of daffodils might [!!!] be in bloom to greet visitors as they follow the entrance drive leading to the Beaux Art style mansion for this annual celebration of spring. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the meadows planted by volunteers over the last decade. Throughout the afternoon there will be numerous activities for visitors wishing to celebrate spring.
Afternoon activities include kite flying and a dog parade. [Bring your family pooch.] The parade will be led by Riley, the Wadsworth Mansion mascot.Docents will lead guided tours of the Mansion providing a narrative that details the history of the Estate. Furniture donated by the Wadsworth Family will be on display in the History Room.
Follow and feast on the food truck craze in the oval.

All of the concerts will begin at 6:30p. The grounds will be open for picnicking at 5:30p. Parking will be at the Mansion, at the Wilbert Snow School, 299 Wadsworth Street, and at Mercy High School, 1740 Randolph Road. Concerts will be held in light rain, or the threat of showers, but cancelled with the proximity of electrical storms that may endanger both guests and musicians.
Open Air Market & Festival
August 30, 2015, 10:00a - 4:00p
The historic Mansion will transform its 700 foot vista into a marketplace and festival where a variety of vendors will gather to sell their Connecticut grown or made products. One can stroll from tent to tent purchasing fresh produce, fruit, cheese, breads and prepared foods. Local artisans, such as potters, painters, and jewelers have been invited to sell their work. Visitors will be encouraged to lounge on the lawn with lunch and listen to live music performed on the patio. Families can bring their children and spend the day. It will be a day to discover the Wadsworth Mansion, enjoy music and art, and experience the tradition of shopping at an open-air market.
Haunted Halloween Party

Dress as one of Colonel Clarence Wadsworth's guests or your favorite ghoul and join in the festivities!
There will be costume judging with prizes awarded for best of categories!

Expect to find unique holiday gifts for your family and friends. Featured vendors from the Open Air Market will be selling their handmade products.
New Year's Day

The Annual New Year's Day Open House will feature docent tours, horse-drawn carriage rides and music.
Wadsworth Mansion Wedding Show
TBD, 11:00a - 3:00p, $5.00 per person at the door.
The Wedding Show has been designed to help brides plan their special day at the Wadsworth Mansion. There will be vendors from different venues, each of whom have worked at Long Hill and are familiar with designing unique weddings in the historical building. There will be caterers, florists, photographers, rental companies, wedding cake bakers, as well as vendors who specialize in party favors and invitations, make-up, and hotel accommodations in the area.

Friends of Long Hill Tea
TBD 1:00p - 4:00p, $30.00 Reservations required.
Guests at the Wadsworth Mansion will be treated to a three course tea menu prepared by Kim's Cottage Confections and estate tea from The Green Room in the East and West Ballrooms, where Clarence and Katharine Wadsworth frequently hosted their own lavish parties. Each table will be personally set and decorated by members of the Friends of Long Hill. Invited vendors will be selling unique items in the loggia.
Seating is limited; reservations can be made by contacting the Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill Estate, at 860-347-1064. Checks should be made payable to Friends of Long Hill, and sent to 421 Wadsworth Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
Wednesday Historical Tours
Every Wednesday from 2:00p until 4:00p, the Wadsworth Mansion is open for tours. Docents from the Friends of Long Hill Estate lead guided tours of the Mansion providing a narrative that details the history of the Estate and the five million dollar renovation. Furniture donated by the Wadsworth Family is on display in the History Room. Please call to confirm the tours are being held. Large groups and bus tours, please call ahead.
Spot of Tea & Tour
On the second Wednesday of every month, the docents will sweeten their accounts of the Wadsworth family story with some dainty goodies and a cup of tea. The "Spot of Tea & Tour" will be served in the Mansion's fabled tradition of hospitality and will be offered without charge between 2:00p - 3:00p Please call to make a reservation at 860-347-1064.
The "Spot of Tea & Tour" is not available during the months of July and August.
The Trails surrounding the Wadsworth Mansion are open to the public daily between sunrise and sunset. Certain areas may be off limits, if there is an event at the Mansion. Take only pictures, leave only footprints.
