Featured Wedding: Anna and Jimmy 9/13/14

September is one of our favorite months for weddings at the mansion.  The Hydrangeas begin to blush from the changing of the season and the weather is almost always perfect.  Anna and Jimmy had a beautiful celebration where they were able to take advantage of our beautiful surroundings before the rain arrived and then (as we all know how New England weather can be) when the rain stopped, went back out for more photos!

Before heading off to their ceremony at the beautiful St. Sebastian Church that is located right down the road from us, they had their first look out in our Tennis Pavilion.  They wandered around the property to pose in our stunning treelines and down to the bridge by our vernal pool.  We love how they incorporated our natural surroundings into their photos as both are avid hikers and nature enthusiasts.

The day was beautifully captured by Uplift Photography and we are happy to share these photos with all of you!

Congratulations to the happy couple!  Thank you for hosting your wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion!

Featured Wedding: Lisa and Kevin 8/23/14

Lisa and Kevin had a beautiful and incredibly fun wedding at the mansion in late August.  They were very meticulous in their planning and it really paid off as every detail from the three decorated cakes, to the tennis pavilion where they transformed their ceremony space with a curtain of hanging flowers and crystals (designed by the talented Sharon Elizabeth Florist), to the tent that was beautifully strung with lights.  It was just stunning!  Lisa and Kevin were such a unified couple when planning their wedding; they worked together to create a celebration that perfectly reflected who they were.  The entire day was beautifully captured by Kris Rae Photography and we particularly liked how he captured Lisa and Kevins “first look” in the trees on the east side of the vista.  Take a look at the photos to see what we mean 🙂

On another note, Lisa had the most adorable ring bearer who not only shined throughout the day with the biggest smiles but kept up with the grown-ups with his dance moves!  He was so much fun, that we had to include a few photos of him as well.

Congratulations to the happy couple and thank you for hosting your wedding with us!  We were honored to be part of your special day!

Featured Wedding – Sarah and Joshua 8/15/14

When Sarah arrived at the mansion for her tour, she told us she was looking for the perfect venue for a Disney princess Cinderella wedding.  The moment she walked through the door, her eyes lit up and she knew this was the place for her.  From then on, Sarah was known to us as our “princess bride” and boy, did she deliver!  Sarah and Josh were such a wonderful couple to work with.  They were so in love and just so happy to be getting married that all of the details and planning were just icing on the cake.  Congratulations to Sarah and Josh on the beginning of your happily every after!

Featured Wedding: Jason and Nancy 6/1/13

Jason and Nancy 6/1/13

Thinking back on Nancy and Jasons wedding, its hard not to smile and get all warm and fuzzy.  There was just so much LOVE on that beautiful June day – and there was so much to love.   First, Nancy and Jason were just about the happiest couple ever.  Everything about this wedding, from the exuberant energy of the bride, groom, and guests, to the brilliant colors Nancy used in her decor, made this one to remember.  Nancy thoughtfully included touches of her heritage from Ghana with the beautiful bridesmaid dresses and many of the guests arrived in traditional Ghanaian dress.  Do you want to see a colorful spring wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion?  This one takes the cake.  Beautifully photographed by Joshua Dwain Photography, coordinated by Galas Inc., and catered by Gourmet Galley, the pictures really say it all.

Congratulations to Nancy and Jason!  It was a pleasure hosting your wedding at the mansion and we wish you all the best!
